ATLANTA, GA – September 25, 2023 – ANDMORE has announced a reimagined Best Booth Awards program recognizing excellence across six categories of visual merchandising at its Atlanta, Las Vegas and High Point campuses beginning in 2024. The awards will highlight temporary exhibitors for exemplary displays, based on merchandising, story-telling, brand identity, color and interactivity.

Shoppe Object Wraps Its Sold-Out Summer Show On A High Note: Strong Attendance Growth & Significant Exhibitor Expansion

New York – August 22, 2023: The Summer 2023 edition of Shoppe Object, New York’s premier trade event for curated home and gift, wrapped another sold-out show at Manhattan’s Pier 36 last week, delivering 20% attendance growth and exceeding core expansion goals. Presenting close to 600 carefully selected brands from 24 countries in a maximized footprint, Shoppe Object’s new Cityside Pavilion made its summer market debut, August 13-15, 2023, at their waterside home on Manhattan’s Lower East Side.

“This show marked five years since we first launched at the old H&H Bagel factory in 2018, and it really is a joy to see what has come of those early instincts,” shared Founder and Show Director Jesse James. “We wanted to create a better space for trade in New York, with vitality and curation befitting the very best brands and merchants of home and gift from the US and around the world. We’ve been on a steady path since that first show, and the jolt in international brands this season, combined with the continued exuberance in feedback from both our buyers and exhibitors, has really sealed the deal.”

The summer edition showcased a 50% increase in international attendees, as well as a strategic increase in products for the home. Attendees responded positively to the invigorating growth.

Angela Torgerson, Executive Manager and Senior Buyer for McNally Robinson Booksellers with stores in both Canada and The United States, commented, “Shoppe Object is exciting! There were more vendors, more interesting products, and the show was very well organized.” Cindy Olling, owner of The Perfect Petal in Denver, said, “We bought our hearts out at Shoppe. It’s the best in presenting creative and curated lines from around the country and around the world.”

Exhibitors praised the market for its business connections and a sense of community. “We love that Shoppe makes such an effort to cultivate community and engage both vendors and buyers,” shared exhibitor Alicia Scardetta of Coral & Tusk. Mark Wallis of Wallis & Company, who partners with multiple brands at Shoppe Object, called it “The best trade show in North America.”

The Summer show welcomed a major increase in international exhibitors, which collectively represented nearly a quarter of the total market. Brands traveling from abroad showed a diverse range of product categories, and a long list of first-timers to Shoppe Object included household names like the iconic French knife maker Opinel and sleek shopping trolleys from the Spanish brand Rolser, as well as Iris Hantverk’s handmade brushes from Sweden, Kapka’s colorful enamelware from Turkey, and Muzaluci’s textiles from Colombia. The renowned Japanese distributor, SAIKAI, made its long-awaited return to the New York market and its Shoppe Object debut with close to thirty brands across categories from furniture to ceramics.

Opinel’s US Brand Manager Jessica Leitch shared, “Shoppe Object was a fun, captivating show for Opinel to be a part of. We’re thrilled with all the introductions made to our French brand — it was great to connect with our current buyers in a really engaging way while also meeting lots of new retailers! Plus, the event as a whole is so vibrant and aesthetically pleasing, filled with brands we were happy to be presented alongside.” Felix Redecker, of Redecker, a first-time exhibitor from Germany, enthused, “Great trade show! We were pleased to be among a terrific group of outstanding brands. The quality of exhibitors is important to us since it leads to quality customers, which is of great significance to us coming all the way from Europe.”

Returning international brands included award-winning lighting manufacturer, Zafferano, from Italy, joined by Germany’s Blomus (home décor), South Africa’s Mungo (textiles), Canada’s Umbra (housewares), handmade wooden goods from Guatemala with Itza Wood, and many more. And adding to the international presence at Shoppe Object was the show’s own collaboration with ByHand Consulting – now in its second season – to present the Global Artisan Project, a section featuring global goods from brands dedicated to preserving craft techniques, supporting artisan communities, and promoting the beauty of the handmade. Powered by People, a digital wholesaler of small-batch, responsibly-made goods, also showcased 24 lines from around the world, from Chile-based Chilote Shoes to Eswatini’s Quazi Design.

Also notable was the August edition’s 20% growth in home brands since the winter edition. Some 55% of the August exhibit floor showed home categories, from heavy hitters including Alexandra Von Fürstenberg, Chilewich, Pappelina, and Yamazaki, as well as designer favorites like KleinReid, MQuan Studio, Saved New York, Sir/Madam, and Style Union Home.

Shoppe Object’s Black Lives Matter Action Initiative (BLMAI) sponsored 20 Black-owned brands in a hybrid format, offering both in-person booth space and digital exhibition through the show’s online marketplace, Shoppe Online. The program, now in its fifth season, was launched to amplify diversity in the home and gift space. Sponsoring brands across nearly every category, the Summer show’s participants included Sun & Lace’s leather baby shoes, woven lighting from Golden Editions, glassware from Cedric Mitchell Design, and more.

Shoppe Object’s NOURISH section continues to be a fan favorite, featuring the latest in small-batch beauty and gourmet. Curated by Dr. Maria Geyman, Vogue contributor and the naturopathic doctor behind Masha Tea, the section spotlighted many fresh brands including Ciao Pappy, Dear Botanics, For Sea And Oats, Nala Care, Persons of Interest, and Beeswax Candles by Alysia Mazzella.

NEXT UP: THE LAUNCH OF SHOPPE HIGH POINT IN OCTOBER

Shoppe Object’s new High Point edition – Shoppe High Point – will debut October 14-17, 2023, with 100 new-to-High Point brands on the 3rd floor of Historic Market Square, NC. “As we head into a new adventure with the launch of Shoppe High Point this October, it feels great to have the foundation of such an intentional community here in New York,” shared James.

Featuring a curated mix of home furnishings and home décor, the show will be open each day from 9am – 6pm.  Subscribe to the Shoppe Object email newsletter for regular updates, invites, and inspiration all season.

Attendees visited Las Vegas Apparel from 44 states and Puerto Rico, as well as six international countries, with Western, Midwest and Southwest-based buyers making up 74% of total market attendees.

Las Vegas Apparel showcased its 100+ lines across apparel, accessories, gift and lifestyle items and more in a curated, easy-to-shop environment over four days, with rave reviews from buyers and sellers alike for ease and efficiency to discover products and write orders.

Returning Las Vegas Apparel buyer, Jennifer Markwell, owner of Kopers Boutique in Morehead, KY, attended the show for two days to make sure she discovered all the products Las Vegas Apparel had to offer.

“This was our second time sourcing at Las Vegas Apparel and it has been wonderful. We came on Sunday to see everything and came back Tuesday to make sure we had everything we wanted and write all of our orders,” said Markwell. “The show is super easy to shop, very organized and not intimidating; we really feel like we belong and we can’t wait to come back in February.”

The Downtown Las Vegas apparel venue also welcomed a wealth of new buyers, including Marlo Meredith, owner of Miss Cocky Boutique, with three locations across Columbia and Chapin, SC.

“We are sourcing for Game Day products and have already written so many orders. At Las Vegas Apparel, we had the opportunity to discover so many new brands, create great connections and secure so many new products that we can’t wait to get in stores. We will definitely be back.”

First time exhibitor, Meredith Jurica, CEO of Makeup Junkie Bags was elated with results after just one day of the market.

“This was our first time showcasing with Las Vegas Apparel and we outsold our last Vegas show on the first day here,” said Jurica. “We are so content with our sales that everything we did through the end of the show was just icing on the cake.”

ANDMORE TrendWatch Previews New Directions at Fall 2023 High Point Market

HIGH POINT, N.C. – August 10, 2023 – TrendWatch, ANDMORE’s semi-annual exclusive trend forecast, explores new product offerings at Fall 2023 High Point Market through two distinctive trends -- Brights & White and Middle Ground -- through a pre-market webinar, a digital flipbook, an onsite seminar and tour and two onsite product displays during the October 14-18, 2023, High Point Market.

“Fall 2023 TrendWatch themes, which are both contemporary and timeless in nature, will showcase the breadth and depth of product available from ANDMORE’s High Point Market exhibitors,” said Karen Olson, ANDMORE executive vice president, chief marketing officer. “TrendWatch provides an infallible sourcing guide for retailers and designers alike.”

The Fall 2023 TrendWatch trends are:

  • Brights & White is reminiscent of a modern space adorned with tech colors, AI-inspired textures and patterns that appear abstract, perhaps even otherworldly. Circular forms, sculptural qualities, softened edges and inviting curves encourage exploration. A high-tech trompe l’oeil, the viewer is invited to touch and embrace what is displayed. Brights & White calls on dining furniture that incorporates modern shapes, upholstery in whites, brights, or black fabrics and leather. Finishes are white and natural with upscale metallic surfaces. Accessories welcome bright colors, stand-out light fixtures and unique patterns with unexpected forms and irresistible textures.
  • Middle Ground is inspired by warm wood furnishings finishes, much like that of sand, caramel or a lion’s mane. Upholstery takes form in warm and inviting neutrals. Color cues in Middle Ground beg to observe the integrity of pastels – upbeat pinks, purples and blues with warm accents of yellow and orange-brown hues. Fresh and tempting colors that mimic stone fruit, butternut squash, butterscotch or almond flour complement happy pastels, and matte finishes carry out the final impression to a tranquil dream.

TrendWatch curator, Julie Smith Vincenti of Chicago-based Nine Muses Media explains, “The Fall 2023 TrendWatch program includes stories that lead with watery blues; mid-tone pastels; confident brights and Modern Farmhouse-friendly neutrals. As we anticipate the holiday season, texture and motif help buyers to gear up for sourcing at the top of 2024.”

TrendWatch is accessible through online and in-person opportunities as part of rich programming by ANDMORE at High Point Market. The pre-market webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, October 4, at 1 PM (ET); the onsite seminar is Saturday, October 14, at 12 PM, in the Sherwin-Williams Seminar Room at Suites at Market Square (SAMS); and the TrendWatch Tour of the at-market vignettes in the International Home Furnishings Center (IHFC) Green lobby and the SAMS entrance is Monday, October 16, at 2:30 PM. To register for the pre-market TrendWatch webinar and related at-market programming, visit https://www.ANDMOREHighPointMarket.com/trendwatch/.

Exhibitors at ANDMORE’s 17 High Point Market properties are invited to submit new product to be considered for the TrendWatch presentations, vignettes and tour. Submissions are due August 30, 2023. Programming and submission information is available at https://www.ANDMOREHighPointMarket.com/trendwatch-program.

“Social occasion is an electric category, and the proof is in the number of buyers and brands we welcomed to Atlanta this August,” added ANDMORE’s Stover. “Retailers are hungry for new and trendy products across all price points, and exhibitors continue to exceed expectations with inventory.”

Buyer Jennifer Fox, Marketing Director of The Bridal Collection in Centennial, CO, noted bringing her largest team to-date.

“We get to see all of the brands we want in Atlanta which is why we bring such a large team – to divide and conquer. In doing so, we are placing our largest orders to date this week,” added Fox.

Sydney Howard, buyer at Savvi Formalwear and Savvi Prom in Raleigh, NC, said, “Formal Markets is overwhelming in the best way possible because there's so much product. There is a new exhibitor or astonishing design around every corner and you just don't know what surprises to expect on each floor. Even the designers that don't have higher price points are still bringing a lot to the table, which we really appreciate. We carry an array of different price ranges and Formal Markets has everything we need to fill all of those demands.”

The bridal and formal markets continue to grow through partnerships across prom and bridal brands.  Portia and Scarlett, now partnered with Allure Bridals, made its co-located debut at the August Market.

Nikki Deeds, global brand manager of Allure Bridals, said, “Our partnership with Portia and Scarlett has been really well received. Buyers are excited not only to keep the integrity of the brands and the designs of Portia and Scarlett, a brand that’s really made a huge splash in the prom industry, but also to have one location where to buy bridal as well. Allure has been in business for over 25 years and this partnership made sense to launch in Atlanta.”

Deeds added that the business conducted this market has been very strong, with reports of appointments before market began and after hours every day of the show.

Beyond exhibits, the Formal Markets signature fashion show had standing-room-only attendance, with retailers and exhibitors excited to preview and showcase the upcoming trends from top brands across the market. The runway fashion show showcased 83 looks featuring bridal, quinceañera and prom best sellers.

Formal Markets now presents its collection of bridal, prom, quinceañera, mother-of-the-bride, accessories, homecoming and special occasion lines three times annually: March and August in Atlanta and August in Las Vegas. The next edition of Formal Markets runs August 14-16, 2023, in Las at The Expo at World Market Center Las Vegas. For more information, visit https://www.formalmarkets.com

Las Vegas Market Satisfies Dynamic Industry Needs

LAS VEGAS – August 4, 2023 – New product introductions, expansive programming and advanced at-market technology combined to deliver a positive market experience for buyers and sellers at the summer 2023 Las Vegas Market, July 30 – August 3, 2023, at World Market Center Las Vegas.

“Las Vegas Market delivered on its promise as the industry’s premier West Coast destination for gift, décor and furniture sourcing,” said Bob Maricich, ANDMORE CEO.  “Exhibitors and attendees alike forged valuable connections and generated new business opportunities through cross-category resources and networking offered only at Las Vegas Market.”

With attendance representing nearly all 50 states and 49 countries, buyers from around the world converged at Las Vegas Market to find the latest and greatest from 1,000+ suppliers of furniture, décor and gifts.

“I love coming to this market! It’s very accessible to buyers from all over the country, and exhibitors are so easy to navigate throughout campus,” said Stephanie Sala, owner of Five Little Monkeys (Albany, CA). “I come here to see trends and get a sense of what product I need to keep my store cutting edge within the industry.”

While the majority of attendees hailed from the West and Southwest, the summer edition also recorded a double-digit increase in buyers from the Southeast. In addition to interior designers and retailers large and small, Las Vegas Market hosted some 12 nationwide buying groups, bringing dynamic business connections and exponential purchasing power to the July event.

The summer 2023 Las Vegas Market featured some 3,500 product lines across the gift, bedding, décor and furniture categories throughout four buildings on the World Market Center Las Vegas campus, giving buyers the chance to discover an unmatched variety of product. More than 20 showroom updates brought a wealth of new and expanded resources to the July buying event.

“The biggest benefits to attending this market in person are undoubtedly the networking opportunities and being able to see product in real time," said Joel Huseby, owner of Becker Furniture (Minneapolis, MN). “Combining these factors with consolidated showrooms, nothing beats the at-market experience.”

Beyond exhibits, Las Vegas Market offered more than 30 events, educational programs and activities over five days of market. Highlights included: seminars, webinars, tours, awards ceremonies and other special events, including more than 10 CEU-eligible courses across the home and design categories.

New and Expanded Home Furnishings Resources Extend Sourcing

Las Vegas Market’s reorganization and expansion of home furnishings resources continued this summer, creating a more comprehensive breadth and depth of décor and furniture product in an easy-to-shop environment.

Among new showrooms for summer 2023, Las Vegas Market welcomed back Acme Furniture Industry, Inc. “We had a huge turnout for our first returning show in Las Vegas with new customers and new product lines,” said Angel Ma, Acme e-commerce manager. “Our sales were great with several orders from stores primarily coming from the western market.”

Permanent showroom expansions and relocations also extended the range and number of resources available to both designers and retailers.

D.V. KAP Home, an accent pillow brand expanded its Las Vegas showroom to accommodate some 300 extra SKUs. “With the new showroom location and even more space to display our resources, we’ve received more traffic and brand-new customers that have been able to experience this line for the first time,” said Peter Sivas, D.V. KAP Home marketing director. “Many of our regular customers that we’ve known for years are impressed with the ease and variety of shopping in this showroom.”

Mattresses and Bedding Produce West Coast Wins

Nearly 100 bedding and mattress exhibitors, across 10 floors at the World Market Center Las Vegas campus, combine to create THE nation’s bedding market.  Participating suppliers appreciate the market’s exclusive opportunity to make product line introductions and to increase brand recognition.

“This market was outstanding. We saw more major retailers than ever before and had quality meetings with all of them, resulting in product line placement commitments that exceeded our expectations,” said Matthew Anderson, Hollywood Bed chief commercial officer. “As Las Vegas is the dominant market for bedding, we plan our major product introductions around this market, and this summer did not disappoint.”

Exhibitors also praised the connection-based exposure made possible by gathering the bedding community in Las Vegas.

“I am a firm believer that this market gives access and opportunity to market to existing and new buyers,” said Toby Konetzny, South Bay International CEO. “Having a presence at Las Vegas Market enabled us to showcase innovative products and tell our story through visuals that cannot be obtained with emails and catalogs.”

10 Years of Gift Leasing Creates Category Momentum

Summer 2023 capped 10 years of Las Vegas Market gift leasing momentum, with highlights including additions and expansions as well lease extensions by industry-leading brands and sales agencies. The market’s ongoing gift category growth and development was evidenced by significant summer market expansions on C11 by sales agencies Fine Lines and Stephen Young, as well as long-term recommitments by Creative Co-Op; Gifts of Nature; NEST, The New Era Sales Team and Road Runners.

Gifts of Nature, a sales agency for products that inspire, marked its 10-year anniversary as a Las Vegas Market tenant with a five-year lease renewal.

“When we came to Las Vegas in 2013, we were looking for new customers, more exposure and more reach and that is exactly what this market has delivered for us,” said John Brown, Gifts of Nature president and CEO. “We have ambitious goals for this market going forward, and I’m confident in the prospect of meeting them.”

Las Vegas Market’s nearly 400 gift and home temporary exhibitors – some 25% of which were first-time participants – also reported positive energy and newly-opened accounts over four days at The Expo at World Market Center Las Vegas.

First time exhibitor Alyssa Stanzione, design director of The Card Bureau, said, “This is our first Las Vegas Market. We found out about it through word-of-mouth, and I think we made the right choice in coming here. As we plan for the future, I want to expand to a bigger booth and come with more inventory. The diversity of buyers at this market has been wonderful for us, and we look forward to coming back.”

@Market App Supports Buyer Ease and Discoverability

ANDMORE’s new @Market app made its Las Vegas Market debut, delivering an easier, more user-friendly experience for buyers. Its combination of scan-and-go registration for badging, in-app navigation, product and exhibitor organization and post-market summaries offered buyers a more efficient experience from start to finish.

“I would not be able to survive market without this app – it’d be like trying to take an exam without your pencils!” said Mari Irish, vice president of trade compliance at The TJX Companies (Framingham, MA). “I just love how everything is at my fingertips, making market more accessible on all fronts.”

The winter 2024 Las Vegas Market is January 28 – February 1, 2024, at World Market Center Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Market is the leading home furnishings and gift market in the western U.S., presenting thousands of furniture, home décor and gift resources in an unrivaled market destination.
